Baby Izaiah Wallis, the toddler who was injured by a drunken driver nearly two years ago, has a new home, thanks to a large number of people, businesses and nonprofits.

The five-bedroom Vista house was presented to the Wallis family Wednesday morning in an event worthy of the popular TV show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." More than 100 friends, volunteers and others crowded the cul-de-sac just west of Civic Center Drive, north of Highway 78, waiting for the family to arrive about 10:30 a.m.

When the family arrived, the crowd cheered: "Welcome to your new home!" The young couple with their two children walked up the driveway of their new home, shaking hands and hugging the volunteers. Read the full story..
